Mick Hyde wrote to us at the weekend, submitting the following image of the Moon's Southern Highlands, which he captured on August 23, 2008 at 03:30 (click to zoom):

The photo was taken using a C9.25 telescope and 2.5x Televue Powermate with a red filter and was post-processed in Registax and Photoshop CS3.

The mosaic comprises of 23 singular images, captured with his DMK 21AF04.AS telescope camera.
