Here are a few time-lapse GIF animations of solar prominences from July 2013 using my 'workhorse' DMK 21AU618.AS and a 4" ED refractor with 0.8A Daystar H-alpha filter, shot from my suburban backyard.
The great H-alpha sensitivity and low noise at modest gain settings of the DMK 21AU618.AS makes the camera ideal for relatively high resolution imaging of faint, low contrast prominences. I'm able to keep the shutter speed up, between 1.0ms and 2.5ms, to freeze prominence motion and to combat turbulent seeing conditions at my suburban location.
