We recently came across an entire archive of astronomy photos by Wes Higgins. The majority of his planetary images and those photos from before 2006 were captured with The Imaging Source DMK 21F04 FireWire camera.
The images were acquired from Wes's back yard, at around 300 meters above sea-level.
Looking at the quality and details of his photos, one could imagine that Wes actually flew to the moon in order to take such fantastic close-up shorts. He assures us, in a forum post, that this is not the case and that the images were indeed captured in his back yard!
