The Webcam is Dead, Long Live The Imaging Source!

This is the title of an article, which was published in the May 2008 issue of the British magazine Astronomy Now. Nick Howes has written a technical report on the DMK 21AU04.AS and DMK 41AU02.AS astronomy cameras, accompanied by several planetary and deep sky photos.

New Version of Lucam Recorder Released

Heiko Wilkens, the lead developer of Lucam Recorder, has just released version 2.2 of his software. The new version supports the full range of The Imaging Source USB 2.0 and FireWire astronomy cameras and includes an number of exciting new features.

ISS in Astronomie Magazine

The French amateur astronomer Laurent Langelez has been busy recently following the International Space Station. His efforts have been rewarded with a detailed article in issue 101 of the French magazine Astronomie Magazine (May 2008).

First Light with a DBK 31AU03.AS

The German amateur astronomer Thomas Jäger sent us some images of the Moon, which he captured with his new astronomy camera, manufactured by The Imaging Source. His high resolution image shows the Apennine Mountains in superb clarity.

H-Alpha Sun Images from Slovenia

The astronomy cameras community is expanding eastwards! Marko Vidovic, based in Markovci, Slovenia submitted some images of the Sun, which he captured in H-Alpha, using his new DMK 21AU04.AS astronomy camera.

Deep Sky Image by Axel Canicio (M51)

Axel Canicio - the winner of the astronomy cameras competition in March - submitted last week, an image that he captured with his new DMK 21AU04.AS astronomy camera. He is especially interested in capturing Messier objects. The monochrome image he sent is of M51.
